Test stand for carrying out individual and endurance tests on axial joints

The axial joint test stand carries out individual and endurance tests on various axial joints, whereby load spectra, angular movements, temperature and humidity can be variably adjusted. The test stand can test up to 4 axial joints simultaneously and uses hydraulic cylinders to apply axial force and angular movement. Each test station has individual test adapters for simultaneous testing of different axial joints. Axial play is measured and, in the event of defects, the corresponding cylinder is switched off, with downtime and other data being logged.

The axial joint test stand subjects various types of axial joints to tough individual and continuous load tests. Load spectra, angular movements, temperature and humidity can be freely preselected. The failure criterion is the axial play or breakage of the axial joint.

Brief technical description:

  • The test stand enables a maximum of 4 axial joints to be tested simultaneously.
  • With hydraulic cylinders in servo design, the axial force per joint and the angular movement are applied jointly for all joints. Axial force and angular movement can be controlled either linearly or sinusoidally.
  • Each test point is mounted separately and has individual test adapters. This enables the simultaneous testing of different axial joints.
  • The axial play is determined by measuring the movement between the housing and the joint rod with a specified force on the axial joint. If a joint is defective, the respective cylinder switches off. The downtime, number of cycles and axial play are recorded.
