Task:
In the automotive and industrial sectors, there is a significant demand for reliable and efficient contacting solutions for powerpacks - high-performance electric motors that are often used in power steering systems or compressor technology. These motors require precise and interference-free data transmission and high-current supply to ensure optimum performance. One challenge is to find a solution that enables both manual and automated contacting while offering flexibility, ESD safety and efficient software integration.
Solution:
KLOTZ GmbH is addressing this challenge with its "Klotz standard contacting plug" for power packs, which has been in use since 2021. These plugs enable the contacting of power packs for data transmission and high-current supply. They can be used in a variety of ways - manually guided, automated via linear guide or robot. The selected features include data transmission for the ECU of power packs, optional high-current supply, fully automatic contacting and interference-free signal exchange. They are also ESD-safe thanks to the use of insulating materials. The contacting plugs also support the flashing, coding and parameterization of customer-specific software and the writing of product data, which offers a high degree of flexibility thanks to pluggable terminating resistors.
